Richard and his daughter both a rare disease called Myelodysplastic Syndrome MDS. The only cure for this blood disorder is to have a bone marrow transplant. Rosalind already has a donor lined up and is under-going chemotherapy prior to the transplant. Richard has that to come if he can get a donor, in a few years. See their BLOG
With just one spit for life into a container from the Anthony Nolan trust you can be checked to see if your bone marrow is a match for people with MDS or leukemia. Giving the bone marrow is by filtering your blood - so is not intrusive.
