Why not visit the Craft and Antique Markets held on Fridays and Saturdays for a unique memento of your stay in Totnes.There are a wealth of food shops and deli's selling local and organic produce many supplying Great Court farm.
The 480 acre Dairy and sheep farm runs down to the River Dart and is part of the Duke of Somerset's estate which is near the village of Berry Pomeroy, famous for its haunted castle!!.
Our large Victorian farmhouse has full central heating and is furnished and decorated to a high standard. .IRooms are spacious and well equipped with little extras to make your stay "a home from home". Guests have a lounge and on warm evenings the garden in which to sit and relax.
If you are lucky you may see a calf born in our field in front of the garden at certain times of the year.Farmhouse breakfasts are served in the Dining room overlooking the garden.There is a varied menu serving locally produced food cooked in an AGA, and homemade marmalade, jams, local honey, and free range eggs. Evening meals by arrangement or enjoy the local cuisine in restuarants,bistro's and pubs of Totnes and local villages. This is an ideal centre for visiting the beautiful coast and villages of South Devon, Dartmoor and Torbay. There are many tourist attractions with a trip on the River Dart a must. Castles,steam trains, beaches, N.T. and English Heritage properties and Golf courses are within easy reach. Gentle walks from Totnes to villages along the R. Dart or for keen walkers the South Devon coastal path is breath taking both for views and steep inclines!!
